Fancy plywood, also called decorative plywood , is usually veneered with good-looking hardwood veneers , such as red oak, ash, white oak, birch, maple, teak, sapele , cherry, beech, walnut and so on . 

Fancy plywood is much more expensive than common commercial plywood . Generally speaking, the fancy face/back veneers (outer veneers) are about 2~6 times as expensive as common hardwood face/back veneers (such as red hardwood veneers, Okoume veneers, Red Canarium veneers, poplar veneers, pine veneers and so on) . In order to save costs, most of customers require only one side of plywood to be faced with fancy veneers and the other side of plywood to be faced with common hardwood veneers. Fancy plywood is used where the appearance of plywood is most important . So the fancy veneers should have good-looking grain and be top grade (A grade). Fancy plywood are very flat, smooth.

E0 Scope of application: It can be used as surface finishing material for walls, wooden doors, furniture, and skirting.

Advantages: The color is reddish-brown, the wood texture is rough, and the texture is shiny and three-dimensional after it is made into a straight grain. It can also be used for antique and solemn decoration by adding color paint.

Features: The inherent texture, tree knots, wood grain and other natural patterns of the natural board create a fantasy-colored shape, with free and unique beauty and strong plasticity, and a good "face" for home furnishing.

Sapele wood grains are staggered, sometimes with wavy textures, and unique fish oval black markings are formed at the wood texture processed by the four-saw method; medium porosity, high gloss; sapwood light yellow, heartwood light red or dark Reddish brown. Its weight, bending strength, compressive strength, seismic performance, corrosion resistance and durability are medium; its toughness and steam bending performance are low. In addition, Sapele wood is easy to process, with good performance in gluing, tenoning, and nailing; and good performance in surface treatment such as painting.
