It is sometimes called Okoume Mahogany and has a pinkish-brown or pale red hue. Okoume has a uniform texture and the grain is straight to barely wavy that looks interlocked and attractive.
Okoume plywood is commonly used for building racing boats and other uses where lightweight wood is needed. It can also be used for building furniture or on kitchen cabinets because of its lustrous appearance.

Okoume plywood not only has all the advantages of natural wood, such as light bulk density, high strength, beautiful texture, insulation, etc., but also can make up for some natural defects of natural wood such as knots, small width, deformation, large vertical and horizontal mechanical differences, etc. .

2. Okoume plywood production can make rational use of logs. Because it has no sawdust, it can produce 1 cubic meter of plywood for every 2.2-2.5 cubic meter of logs, which can replace about 5 cubic meters of logs to be sawn into boards, and for every 1 cubic meter of plywood products, it can also produce a residue of 1.2-1.5 cubic meters. Which is a good raw material for the production of medium-density fiberboard and particleboard.
